Exciting International Basketball Tournament to Take Place in Segovia

The upcoming Triangular Basketball Tournament in Segovia is set to be an event of the highest quality before the Olympics. The tournament organizers have even received a golden ball gift from the Spanish Basketball Federation to the City Council.

The President of the Spanish Basketball Federation, Elisa Aguilar, expressed her confidence in the Spanish Men’s National Team’s ability to secure a spot for the Paris Olympics by winning the Pre-Olympic Tournament in Valencia from July 2 to 7. Aguilar emphasized the advantage of playing at home and the support they hope to receive from fans at La Fonteta Pavilion in Valencia. Despite acknowledging the tough competition from teams like Finland and Poland, Aguilar highlighted Spain’s strong team and their chances of success.

The Spanish Women’s National Team will also participate in an international basketball tournament at the Pedro Delgado Pavilion from July 22 to 24, facing off against Australia and Canada. This tournament is considered the highest quality event before the Olympic Games, with all three teams fine-tuning their preparations for Paris.

Segovia Mayor, José Mazarías, and other officials attended the tournament presentation, where Aguilar praised the participating teams’ quality, with Australia ranked third, Spain fourth, and Canada fifth globally. The matches will take place on July 22 (Spain vs. Australia), July 23 (Australia vs. Canada), and July 24 (Spain vs. Canada).

Ticket prices for the tournament range from 5 to 15 euros, with options for single-game tickets or a pass for all three games. Additionally, there will be open training sessions for fans to attend.

The tournament, a result of collaboration between the City Council and the Spanish Basketball Federation, will offer Segovia residents a unique opportunity to witness top basketball teams in action before the prestigious Olympic competition. Join us in supporting the Spanish National Teams as they aim for success in Paris!
