the jury of The Prix Renaudot has published its third and last selection. Five authors are still in contention to qualify to win the prestigious award which will be presented on November 7, a few minutes after the announcement of the prix Goncourt. It is soul Brother of David Diop (Threshold), The age of the suspects, of Gilles Martin-Chauffier (Grasset), flap of Philippe Lançon (Gallimard), The golden age of Diane Mazloum (JC Lattès), to Leave the ranks of the assassins of Pierre Notte (Gallimard).
Philippe Lançon, who figure in the latest list of the prix Femina, which will be given Monday, November 5, has strong chances of winning. Can it also receive the Renaudot two days later, knowing that Franz Olivier-Giesbert and a part of the jury for the support since the release of the book in April? In theory, nothing is opposed to it. In practice, this double coronation of the same author, would probably be bad of the booksellers who count on the price to take off the most pounds. The only solution for the Renaudot: David Diop, still in contention for five major awards, won the Femina Monday, freeing Lance who is no longer on the list of the Goncourt…
Adeline Dieudonné, Vanessa Schneider eliminated
Another possibility: to crown the novelist Diane Mazloum, who, with his second novel, sign an historic fresco on the Lebanon of the 1970s, immersed in the civil war. Adeline Dieudonné ( real life , The Iconoclast), and Vanessa Schneider, ( You called Maria Schneider , Grasset), two novelists praised by the critics do not figure in this list.
In the class tests, three titles are still in the running: A corsican family by Robert Colonna d’istria (Plon), With all my sympathies Olivia de Lamberterie (Stock) and invisible woman by Nathalie Piégay (Rock). These three books have all been spotted by Le Figaro Littéraire .
