In the Central office of the Investigative Committee of Russia transferred the criminal case about the oil spill in Norilsk. In one combined the three criminal cases under article “Damage of land”, “Violation of rules of protection of the environment by manufacture of works” and “Pollution of waters”.
It passed in Moscow on behalf of the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin, said the official representative of Sledkoma Svetlana Petrenko. The investigation is entrusted to investigators of the Main investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia. According to this criminal case has already appeared the first detainee. Investigators have already restored the correct chronology of the incident. First, it was assumed that the tank crashed into a car that caused an oil spill and fire. It was later established that under the tank dipped bottom that caused a leak of the tank. Fuel spilled on the roadway, where it caught fire a passing car.
From the tank farm spilled about 20 thousand tons of diesel fuel, a load, for example, for 400 aircraft refueling trucks. Part of fuel got into the local Creek and stream in the Barn.
MOE received information about the incident only after 2 days. Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered law enforcement agencies to evaluate the performance of local officials. The investigators have already interrogated officials who are responsible for the timely informing of the population about an emergency spill of fuel in Norilsk, said Svetlana Petrenko.
