Russian President Vladimir Putin gave the Holy Transfiguration Cathedral in St. Petersburg the icon of the Mother of God “Tikhvin”.
Vladimir Putin arrived at the Cathedral at midnight. For more than half an hour, the President, along with other faithful participated in the Liturgy, and then had a short conversation with the rector of the Cathedral by Mykola Ryndinym and handed him the gift icon. In response, the President received from the rector of the Kazan icon of the Mother of God, according to RIA Novosti.
