Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Sunday discussed by telephone some of the relations between the two countries and global challenges. As reported a press-service of the Kremlin, Putin and Merkel agreed to continue to support the project “Northern stream-2”. The sides positively assessed the success of the negotiations on a new contract for pumping of Russian gas through Ukraine in the coming years.
Referring to in a conversation the situation in Libya, Putin and Merkel noted the need to increase political and diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict. This issue is an important part to play in the efforts of the UN and Germany.
the Leaders welcomed on Sunday the exchange of prisoners between the official Kiev and the Donbass republics.
