Russia needs additional conditions to ensure its sovereignty, said the President of the Council of Federation Valentina Matvienko in the program “Moscow. The Kremlin. Putin” on TV channel “Russia 1”.
“We are living in turbulent times that we need additional conditions to ensure the absolute sovereignty of our country”, — said Matvienko. “In Russia, there may be no provision of any international documents that contradict our Constitution,” she added.
on January 15 in the Message to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed to make the Constitution a number of changes. The amendments will contribute to the further development of Russia as a legal social state, and sovereignty – a necessary for this condition, said the head of state.
Among the proposals, announced by Putin, the primacy of the Constitution over international law: decisions of international courts can act in the country only if they are contrary to the fundamental law of Russia.
