Died the first Minister of fuel and energy Vladimir Lopukhin. He was 68 years old. As reported in Facebook by his friend, writer and political scientist Denis Dragunsky, the Lopukhin was diagnosed with COVID-19.

“Today from coronaviruses infection on 69-m to year of life has died my old and faithful friend Vladimir M. Lopukhin, the man to whom I owe a lot to his spiritual and intellectual biography,” wrote the Dragoons.

Lopukhin worked in the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, was Deputy Minister of economy of the RSFSR, was also in charge of the energy Ministry of the RSFSR, and then and Russia – in the first government headed by Boris Yeltsin.

In 1992, Lopukhin was dismissed from his Ministerial post, his place was taken by Viktor Chernomyrdin.
