“the Most important question, which is, unfortunately, less discussed: what do the patients after they have recovered or begun to recover. Today we have the opportunity to discharge patients already on the road to recovery. First, what to do at home?” – Matskeplishvili said.
According to him, in most cases, discharged patients are not told what to do next.
“These men were discharged, and the test results they are healthy, but they are weak, they do not breathe, some remains a violation of smell, fever is small, that they are very worried. And no one is talking, no one is watching and, more importantly, no one tells the majority what to do to recover fully,” the doctor said.
According to him, those who are discharged from medical center of MSU will remain under the supervision of physicians.
“the Most correct when the patient is discharged to give him clear recommendations: first, to stay in touch with the clinic in which he was second, recommendations on how to survive the first 2-3 weeks, which in fact absolutely fundamental,” said the doctor.
According to him, this period of attenuated coronavirus patient can develop other diseases. In addition, such patients in this time of need psychological rehabilitation, as a few days or even weeks of intensive therapy cause serious psychological trauma.
“These people are very much frightened, especially the young, – stated Matskeplishvili. And here, I do not see such a coherent system – anywhere in the world – support these patients after they left the hospital".
