Salamanca CF UDS Secures Victory Against Atlético Tordesillas and Advances to the Final Round for Promotion to Segunda RFEF
Salamanca CF UDS has successfully secured a spot in the final round for promotion to Segunda RFEF. The team emerged victorious once again against Atlético Tordesillas with a score of 2-0, solidifying their position in the next category.
The charro team took to the field with Villanueva guarding the goal; Miguelito, Souley, Mati, and Amaro in defense; Cristeto, Diego Benito, Caramelo, and Alvarito in midfield; and Espina and Fassani leading the attack.
The fate of the match was sealed at Las Salinas with a 0-2 score in favor of Salamanca CF UDS. Only a serious error from the charro team could have allowed Atlético Tordesillas to turn the tide, but Villanueva managed to save the day with a crucial save after a faulty clearance just eleven minutes into the game.
Amidst a slow-paced game with plenty of horizontal passes, it was only a matter of time before the charro team made a breakthrough. Cristeto, who had previously missed a golden opportunity, found Fassani at the edge of the box, and the striker turned and shot low but accurately enough to beat Farolo and secure a 1-0 lead.
With the advantage on their side, the pace of the game remained steady, even with interruptions due to aerial battles. Villanueva made two crucial saves to deny Atlético Tordesillas an equalizer, while Espina missed two clear chances to extend the lead for the team from Chiapas.
Seven minutes into the second half, Caramelo extended the lead to 2-0 at the Helmántico. A well-placed ball into space allowed the winger to outpace his opponents and slot the ball past Farolo for the second goal. The crowd was much livelier than the action on the field, as the visitor Chatún sought a consolation goal for Atlético Tordesillas without success.
Salamanca CF UDS has now advanced to the national round for promotion to Segunda RFEF, and on Monday, they will discover their opponent and the schedule for the upcoming matches.
