Dallas Stars coach Pete DeBoer is back on the ice after recovering from an appendectomy. DeBoer mentioned, “I got the green light to get on the ice Wednesday and then coach going forward.”

The team is set to practice in Nashville, Tennessee before their season opener against the Predators. DeBoer had some minor complications during his recovery but is feeling good now. This was the first time he missed any camp in his 17-year career as an NHL head coach.

In addition to DeBoer’s return, leading scorer Jason Robertson has also recovered from foot surgery and has been skating with the team. Robertson, who had an impressive 80 points last season, is looking forward to contributing to the team’s success this year.

DeBoer mentioned that despite being away, he stayed in touch with his coaching staff and kept up with the team’s progress through the new VICTORY+ streaming service. He expressed his excitement to be back on the ice and working with the team.

It’s great news for the Dallas Stars to have their coach back in action just in time for the season opener. With both DeBoer and Robertson back in the mix, the team is looking to build on their success from the past two seasons and make a strong push in the Western Conference.
