Capital Basmanny court in absentia arrested Konstantin Chan, head of the Moscow office of the former Minister for Open government Mikhail Abyzov. Chan is accused of fraud and participation in a criminal Association.
As reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the court, the new defendant in the case Abyzov declared in the international search.
“In respect of Konstantin Konstantinovich Chan remanded in custody for a period of 2 month, which will run from the date of his extradition or since the date of his arrest on the territory of Russia”, – said in court.
Pull in absentia brought accusation under article 210 of the criminal code (“Participation in criminal community”) and article 159 of the criminal code (“Fraud in especially large size”).
In April under house arrest sent a lawyer, Mikhail Abyzov, Alexander Vershinin. He is also accused of attempted fraud in especially large size. Vershinin partially pleaded guilty.
Former Minister, Mikhail Abyzov was detained in March 2019. According to the investigation, in 2012-2014, he has arranged a deal, not having the right to do business. In the result of minority shareholders of companies SIBEKO and RES has suffered damage at four billion rubles. Proceeds from the transaction was moved abroad.
