Stability and security in Europe in the long term is possible only together with Russia, and not in opposition to it. With this opinion of the Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier totally agree, the Minister of foreign Affairs of Austria Alexander Ellenberg.
In an interview with the newspaper Wiener Zeitung, he said that Austria had always tried to keep open channels for dialogue with Russia. “A mutual game in a silence never before has anyone brought nothing”, — said Ellenberg.
however, he pointed out that the willingness to dialogue does not mean abandoning one’s own values.
Earlier, the new government of Austria has published a work programme, which refers to the continuation of the policy easing of sanctions against Russia.
