Before the 2024-25 NHL season began, ESPN made some bold predictions for all 32 teams, ranging from individual player achievements to where teams would end up in the standings. Now, with almost a quarter of the season completed, it’s time to assess how accurate those predictions have been.
Starting with the Boston Bruins, it was predicted that Jim Montgomery would not survive the season as head coach due to performance-related issues. Surprisingly, Montgomery was let go after just 20 games, with the team struggling in both offense and defense. While Montgomery did his best to motivate the team, the Bruins decided to make a change in coaching staff to try and turn their season around. This prediction turned out to be spot-on, earning a confidence rating of 10.
Moving forward, it will be interesting to see how the rest of the predictions for all 32 NHL teams play out as the season progresses. Stay tuned for more updates and analysis on how these bold predictions unfold throughout the season.
