“Aeroflot” plans to restore pre-crisis level of transportation by March next year. About this stated the head of the country’s largest airline Vitaly Savelyev during a working meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Now recovering transportation in Russia and overseas flights are still banned – the Federal air transport Agency has extended the ban until 1 August, but the country can still not open their airports to other airlines.
In such a situation “Aeroflot” will restore the carriage to the end of the year 50 per cent from pre-crisis levels, said Saveliev.
“We expect to be able to recover 50 percent, or about 30 million passengers we will carry this year”.
All international air carriers have experienced a drop in demand for 96-98 percent “and the recovery will be for us all quite heavy”, — said Saveliev.
the carriage of passengers by planes of “Aeroflot” fell in the heaviest month — April — 95 percent seat occupancy was only 33 percent. In may, the decline continued. In June, renewed growth in demand, but average price for tickets to Russia decreased by 3.5 times.
“We face a crisis, the Aeroflot group has a lot of experience, recovery experience, — noted the Saveliev. — We usually per day transported 110-120 thousand people. But we see significant growth coming, the Russians are beginning to fly, for us it is very important.”
According to him, European airlines, and airlines from the United Arab Emirates is already beginning to recover their routes with neighbouring countries.
“We have also planned that if that happens, if we manage to agree, and we start flying, then the real recovery to 80 percent by December, and somewhere towards the end of the winter season, and that’s the end of March next year, we can achieve a level of 2019 at the international transportation”.
“Aeroflot” aim at restoring transit. In recent years, the Russian airline began to wash away the favorite for passengers from China, “company number one”.
“Three years we have occupied this niche. And of course, we would very much like to come back because a lot was spent to force it again to restore the transit. This is a fairly large stream, about 10 million people, and it’s very profitable,” — said the head of “Aeroflot”.
the Largest Russian airline continues to perform and subsidized transportation, and develop the fleet.
Russia since March 27, has stopped a permanent and Charter flights to other countries due to pandemic coronavirus. With the exception of steel export, freight, postal, sanitary, and humanitarian flights, stretches of empty planes to maintenance, transit flights with a landing to refuel (crew change) in Russia and the flights carried out by separate decisions of the government.
