Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Turkey. Wednesday, January 8, he will hold talks with Turkish chief Tayyip Erdogan. The Russian leader will take part in ceremony of commissioning of the gas pipeline “Turkish stream”.
Previously working visit of Putin to Turkey was announced by the press service of the Kremlin. The Russian Chapter and Erdogan on 8 January to discuss the development of bilateral cooperation and international issues, including situation in Syria and Libya. The Turkish leader on air of TV channel CNN has told that intends to discuss with Putin measures to achieve a truce in the Syrian Idlib, as well as the implementation of the Russian-Turkish Memorandum on Syria, the situation in Libya, RIA Novosti reported.
Earlier on Tuesday, 7 January, the Russian President arrived in Damascus, where he met with Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad. During the visit, held talks with the Russian and Syrian delegations. The head of state took a walk around the Damascus, visited the mosque and the Orthodox Church, who gave the icon of the mother of God.
