Originally from Château-Gontier in Mayenne, Valérie Hayer was born on April 6, 1986 into a family of passionate farmers in Saint-Denis-d’Anjou. His childhood, rocked by the values ​​of work and solidarity, took place according to the rhythm of the seasons on the family farm. This proximity to nature and rurality has forged in her a keen sense of commitment and responsibility towards communities.

Continuing her studies in the field of public law at Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne University, Valérie Hayer quickly directed her professional aspirations towards expertise in local finance. His political commitment took root from a very young age. Elected municipal councilor of Saint-Denis-d’Anjou from 2008 to 2019, she quickly asserted her presence on the local political scene before expanding her action to the departmental level as councilor of Mayenne from 2015 to 2021.

During the 2019 European elections, Valérie Hayer appeared in nineteenth position on the La République en Marche list, marking the start of her mandate in the European Parliament where she proudly represented Mayenne.

In November 2021, she was appointed co-president of the Renaissance delegation, later renamed “Europe, together!”, alongside Marie-Pierre Védrenne. In this role, she succeeds Stéphane Séjourné, thus underlining her central place in European political dynamics.

Her action in the European Parliament was particularly focused around the Budgets Committee where she played a crucial role in the negotiations of the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027. On January 25, 2024, Valérie Hayer reached a new peak in her political career by being elected president of the Renew Europe group in the European Parliament. This position gives him increased influence and visibility, a sign of recognition from his peers for his commitment and vision for Europe.

In anticipation of the 2024 European elections, Valérie Hayer is named head of the “Need for Europe” list, representing the presidential majority. Her campaign was launched vigorously on March 9, 2024, where she strongly opposed the National Rally, criticizing Marine Le Pen’s affiliations with Vladimir Putin.
