Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the plans of the Governor of the Smolensk region Alexey Ostrovsky to be re-elected to the post. On the intention the head of the region told the Russian leader during the meeting.
Vladimir Putin remarked that only welcomes the decision of Alexey Ostrovsky. The head of state drew attention to the fact that the final assessment of the work of the Governor will be made citizens and voters in the upcoming elections. The President wished the current head of the Smolensk region of luck and success, reports channel “Russia 24”.
the Russian leader did not begin to hide that in the region there are deficiencies in the sphere of agriculture, construction and industrial production. According to Putin, in the Smolensk region effectively handled only 30 percent of arable land, in connection with which the subject regional product is slightly lower than the national average. The President also noted that the growth rate of the manufacturing sector in the region still leave much to be desired.

Earlier, the President supported the intention of the Governor of Bryansk region Alexander Bogomaz to run for another term. The head of state also noted that the final decision is up to the citizens.
