Dmitry Kiselyov, General Director of MIA “Russia today”, told how was born this idea and what is its essence.
“This idea of gratitude to a wide, popular and spontaneous gratitude. She was born in a conversation with Alexander Yakovenko, head of the diplomatic Academy and former Ambassador of Russia in London,” — said Kiselev.
According to him, it was not an easy project as it seems at first glance because there is a problem of verification. “You know, will be to squeeze Hitler, Himmler and Vlasov in there, some non-existent people, there is a problem of personal data processing. But, in General, all of these problems we decided. At least err. And decided to start this project, so we got a kind of “Immortal regiment”, but of the doctors, of those who in this difficult period of the epidemic was extremely overloaded, I got through it, managed to change the situation”, — said General Director of “Russia today”.
“People should have the right to say a public thank you, — said Kiselev. – Please note, we are now seeing doctors in masks or costumes, absolutely unrecognizable in this form.”
“And these are the pictures that we expect, I hope, not all will be there in white coats, someone is fishing, someone will be with the kids or playing volleyball. And we feel that these people live among us, and we are treated among them, and this is the way that a people’s gratitude to our doctors,” — said Kiselev.
with regard to the content of the portal, it will be a “people’s history”, although correspondents can also promote this action. The Ministry of health will help in this case with verifikation of doctors and nurses, there will also be support from “Volunteers of Russia”.
the Portal “Please, breathe!” will begin work on June 8th. There are photos and short stories of heroes working on the front line of the fight against coronavirus. Their stories to the address breathe@rian.ru can send those who want to talk about the doctors, the staff of the ambulance volunteers. The records must contain details of the sender — his surname, name and patronymic, e-mail address, as well as the story, which the sender wants to share, with a photo and name of character, name of institution/place of work and position, as well as the town or region of residence. The story should contain no more than 500 characters with spaces. To send an email to breathe@rian.ru the author must obtain the consent of the hero of the story to publish his photo and personal data.
