Even more rare as professors deans . You are a faculty or a Department and are elected for a certain period of time. On this higher level in the hierarchy of women at the 37 largest universities of the country are significantly less frequent. Not even every fifth office of the Dean will be guided, therefore, by a woman, the rate is 17 percent.

again, there are great differences: At the University of Hagen and the University of Koblenz-Landau prevails according to the study, equality. There are as many Deans as deans. The second highest proportion of the universities of Hamburg and Frankfurt (37.5 percent) were recorded.

At the universities in Siegen, Erlangen-Nürnberg, Bonn, Braunschweig, Kiel and Wuppertal as well as at the Karlsruhe Institute of technology and the technical University of Central Hessen are, however, currently, all the deans of men.

At ten of the 37 universities surveyed, a woman is at the top, and has held the highest office as a rector or President , however, without exception, at universities such as the TU in Dortmund and Braunschweig, and at the Humboldt-University in Berlin, of the University of Hagen and the universities of Paderborn and Koblenz-Landau.

What is striking when comparing the higher education forms: None of the examined universities of applied Sciences is a woman – here pent-up demand in terms of management level, nor equality.
